The rushed Health (Amendment) Bill

The Health (Amendment) Bill is being rushed to avoid scrutiny. We have been told that quarantine facilities will not be up and running for weeks regardless of whether the legislation is passed tomorrow or given more time for adequate scrutiny.

Legislation which is rushed is frequently flawed; in fact, this legislation seeks to retrospectively make lawful the fixed penalty notices with fines from the first half of February that were announced with much fanfare.
